New Home Tour: The Den/Office (Before)
Our journey to homeownership was a doozy. Our friends & coworkers had to listen for a year plus to our updates or lack thereof. Anyone who has been through that, knows how draining it is. Despite the numerous frustrated days and nights (hello, bidding wars), the one thing I always remained excited for the moment when we could have a space to call our own (& I could finally decorate!)
When we moved in at the end of last year, my Pinterest boards were ready to go and I had BIG plans. But of course, enter life/work/holidays/stress etc...
So one month into adventure, I'm kicking off this new little blog of mine with a Home Tour series. I love following along other bloggers home renovations so why not share my own?! First up is the home office and den area.
What I like about the room: the size, great natural light, and newly refinished hardwood floors.
What I don't like: the window treatments/blinds, brown ceiling fan (gah!), and the amount of stuff we've accumulated in this room. We all have those "catch all" rooms and this has definitely become ours. Don't let these pictures fool you, this is the organized version...
and here is my plan:
Lately, I'm drawn more and more to Scandinavian design. Bring on the white desk, Eames chair and yes, even the fluffy faux rug. Thankfully, the bones of this room are great so I don't think it will take much to turn my vision into reality. Stay tuned for the update! While we're all waiting for the redesign, head over to Pinterest to check out what I have in store for the other rooms!
